Dementia Care Consulting

Family Communication Facilitation

Family Communication Facilitation helps families move from conflict and misunderstanding to a shared, realistic approach to dementia care. In guided sessions, we create a calm space where each person can voice concerns while we translate medical terms, clarify the dementia diagnosis, and explain what behaviors may mean.
We then work through common sticking points: who does what, safety vs. independence, driving, finances, and when to consider more support. You leave with agreed-upon roles, next steps, and clear language to use with one another and with healthcare providers. These conversations are grounded in both clinical knowledge and real-life caregiving experience, which helps families feel heard rather than judged. Many relatives notice less tension at home, fewer last-minute disagreements, and a stronger sense of "we're on the same team" around the person they all love.

Family conflict over dementia care is one of the leading causes of burnout, poor care decisions, and unnecessary crises — this session gives every family member a shared language and a shared plan, often in a single guided conversation.
